Old Livejournal Post!
July 21st, 2005
11:51 pm - oh boy oh boy oh boy So do I have a story for anyone reading this journal. It involves a little adventure I went on with my dear friend Rachel last night. So, we were heading to the Killers concert in Louisville. It was an 8 pm show. First of all, I got out of work late and we both still had to get dressed. So we got off a little late. Then, we got lost...
Roommates
My roomies are fascinating people. All three share similar deep religious beliefs, and I wondered at first how I would fit in. It has actually turned out to be an amazing experience. One of the girl in particular is so incredibly thoughtful in everything she does and believes- I have had amazing conversations with her. We just sat in the kitchen for an hour talking about different ideas...

More Frustrated than Ever →
I haven’t been blogging because, frankly, my stories this year aren’t all that interesting! But don’t worry- that is a good thing. I’m a better teacher- my students are learning- and we’re all happy….
Run to your dreaming when you’re alone Unplug the TV and turn off your phone Get heavy on with digging your ditch Cause I’m
Digging a ditch where madness gives a bit Digging a ditch where silence lives Digging a ditch for when I’m old Digging this ditch my story’s told
Where all these troubles weigh down on me will rise Run to your dreaming when you’re alone Where all these questions...
I can't wait...
… to reach my goals/to move on/to have COMPLETE control again!
It’s so close to being within reach. :)
Obama's White House →
alcaniglia:
Great article describing how Obama runs the White House in terms of dress code, hours, etc. A must read.

My hometown’s local newspaper has been in a rapid decline ever since it was sold taken over by a bigger national media group. Most of the pages are filled with AP articles, which for a small town is nonsense. The local paper is for local things- kudos and complaints, sports scores, happenings around town. Anyway, some amazing people from my hometown decided they were not okay with this...

Bed Time?
There is no way I’m going to be productive tonight, so I think I might call it a night pretty early and get up at the crack of dawn. I don’t think I’ve gone to bed so early since I was in the single digits!!
Count Your Blessings

Meghan: I know.
12:03 AM- It's officially Monday.
Before going to bed (which will lead to waking up, which will lead to the start of my week…) I just wanted to make a quick list of all the amazing things going on in my head right now.
Two interview and two requests later, I’ve finally realized that I’m good great at what I do.
I have to buy Slumdog Millionaire as soon as it comes out on dvd- I am completely in love with that...

Alright, I am dreading Monday- I’m not going to lie. But considering I have nine straight weeks of teaching coming up (ay-yi-yi!!) I have to make sure I’m keeping myself sane and happy. Each week, I’ll chose something new and fun to keep my life interesting and fun.
This week, besides school, my workouts and weekend away in Nashville will keep me sane. I’m also allowing...

After my Baltimore interview on Thursday, I met up with my Aunt and Uncle who live in the area. Yesterday I traipsed around DC with my incredibly awesome aunt, and today we’re heading to Old Town Alexandria.
I love weekends away, and I love amazing relatives even more! I’ll definitely have more to say when I get back to Charlotte. :)
My Dad's new column →
My dad wrote a column for YEARS in my family’s newspaper. When we sold the paper, his column disappeared for what we thought was forever. At the time it was a blessing- I mean, what teenage girl wants her dad’s perspective of her disastrous date in the local news?- but often I’ve missed reading my dad’s musings and candid thoughts. Recently, however, my hometown has...

Very rarely can you so clearly watch the past usher in the future. Today is truly a new day.
Yoga kicked my ASS last night! I am so wonderfully sore right now. This, combined with no school today (snow!) and my impending trip, is making me an incredibly happy girl.
Now, I just need to print and review my interview documents, finish packing, do the laundry, post my grades, clean my apartment, check in to my flight, fix my lesson for tomorrow, and catch an Inauguration Celebration drink...
This might sound bizarre, but......
… I want to get married someday.
Not a huge revelation for most people, but I’ve honestly never pictured it in my future until recently. So, Future Husband, it’s alright for you to show up now. :)
