2012 Resolutions
Run another marathon.
Why this matters to me: I’ve never felt healthier than when I trained for my first marathon- that’s the bottom line here. But I also know I could do SO much better. I didn’t really later my life habits for training until the month leading up to the race and love the idea of taking the summer to train for the marathon both in terms of mileage accumulated...
On the last day of 2011 my plan is to:
sleep in
eat a healthy breakfast/lunch
go for a fun
beautify myself
go to dinner with friends
take in a concert at the Aragon Ballroom
get home late (but not so late that I can’t enjoy yoga and brunch tomorrow!)

Holiday Health Management
I’m not sure about all of you but due to holiday binging (on both food AND drink!) I am currently carrying about 5 extra pounds, my skin is a mess, and my energy is zapped! I’m not ready to stop indulging completely but here’s the plan to get me through the holiday and (hopefully) get me back to normal in time for New Year’s:
While at home-
at least three runs around the...
WHY WINTER RUNNING > SUMMER RUNNING. →
I went for my first run in ages today and feel like this post might have been written for me. :)
runlikeella:
Because if you stop mid-run, you’ll freeze, so it’s better to keep going.
Because it’s nicer to see your breath instead of swimming in your own sweat during summer runs.
Because you can call it cryogenic cardio: freezing your ass off.
Because if your legs get cold enough, the pain...

Getting my running groove back
I have really, REALLY been missing my running routine but unfortunately I am wuss when it comes to running outside in the cold. Good news, though- I found a pretty affordable 3 month gym membership just a few blocks away from my house. The gym has decent hours (5 am to 9 pm during the week, 8 to 6 on Saturday and 8 to 3 on Sunday) and never looks too crazy busy.
My plan is to join later...

I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t doing some type of cleanse or health goal every few months. Let me tell you- I NEED it right now. I just feel gross. Here’s the plan…
6 am yoga every morning during the week (if I must skip it then I’ll need to get to a class every week day)
7 hours of sleep every night
Log at least 25 miles running before Christmas
At least 5...
