Dear World,

Remember my marathon rules I posted a few weeks back?  That was my sad attempt and getting my act together when it comes to eating and working out.  The eating/drinking has gotten better but I still haven’t been able to find a work out routine that works for me.

People- running the marathon last June was HARD.  And I trained.  Like crazy.  And didn’t cheat.  So far I’ve half-assed most of my runs…  I need to get it together, and quickly.

My friend Ben spent the entire month of June keeping up with an insane list of resolutions.  You can check out his blog about it here.  It’s a little bit nutty, but it’s also really inspiring… so inspiring that I think I’m going to copy him a bit and make some pretty intense July resolutions to try to build some structures that work.

So here are my resolutions for the rest of July:

  • Weekday bedtime is 11 pm every night (earlier is fine), and my alarm will be set for 6 am every weekday morning. (Fridays will be similar based on when I’m waking up to run on Saturday, Saturday nights I’ll try to shift to 1 am bedtime and 8:30 am wake up.)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are running days.  Monday and Sunday are yoga days.  Friday is nothing (but beach volleyball!!). (This will actually take a week to quick in because of some different stuff happening this week but I already have a schedule set and will stick to it.)
  • Saturday night is my only drinking night and even then I can’t have more than two drinks.
  • I’m doing a juice cleanse Monday- Wednesday this week (which means my running schedule is actually going to be a bit off) and after that the rest of July is 50% raw for every meal.

The plan is to keep this up July 9th through August 2nd- that’ll be 25 days.  Sometimes incremental doesn’t do it, and right now is one of those times.  I need to get my focus (and my healthy habits) back and this seems like the only way to do it!
